A card from a question mark, a flower that has a thorn and food that adds calories as you look at it... Happy Valentines.
Some people say that it is a day that is hated or love. A day that rivals Marmite, a day that card companies love and a day that is full of mixed emotions.
In my opinion... Its a day that I love.
A very good friend advised me that Valentines Day is for people that are single or in a fresh relationship. She is coming up to her fourth year and although there is a strong relationship there, she just doesnt see the fuss surrounding the day. My parents are the same and most of my friends who are in long term relationships share these views.
So where is the love?
Is it left on the shelves with the bad cards? Left with the people craving it as they watch another rom-com... or is it just merely underneath the bells and whistles.
Love in any shape or form is not something that, if true, is packed into one day. Love is something that lasts forever...
Yes, celebrate your love. Wine and dine, romance one another but then wake up and do it all again. Love is like that puppy... It should not just be for christmas, but for life.
Single, paired or going with the flow... Love is in our bestest friends, our families, our partners and in everyone somewhere.
Don't be down on this day, don't be ashamed to love this day, don't forget who you love and don't save it all up for just one day a year... wheres the fun in it.
You have the Love... even if you havent found it yet and if you have, cherish it.
