Scary Movie

Ok... so I am not the strongest guy when it comes to a scary film. I am jumpy and sometimes hide behind my hand... This said I still seem to want to put myself through them.

E.T. gave me nightmares for weeks, I still shudder when I see a picture of him. Bigfoot made me start to look in my wardrobe before I went to bed and Creep made me double check my windows were shut.

A trailer of a film is a taster, something to entice you into watching the full movie and make you want to find out what happens in the end.

A trailer is not meant to keep you awake for a whole night.

Everyone had been talking about 'Paranormal Activity' a 15, but said to be the scariest film you'll ever see.

It was 10.30pm and I was looking at funny YouTube videos and saw a link for the trailer to 'Paranormal Activity.' I clicked on it and watched the extended clip.

To say I was freaked out would be a complete understatement.

I shut down my laptop and got ready for bed. Everyone else in my house was asleep and as I opened my bedroom door, I looked out onto the pitch black landing. I crept to the bathroom and rushed to clean my teeth and go to the loo. I crept back across the landing not even daring to look into the pitch black rooms coming off it.

I closed my door, turned off my light and set my alarm.

I lay there with my eye mask pulled over my face. 10 seconds later I heard a creek, my light came on and I shot up in bed. I told myself don't be stupid, turned back off the light and tried to go to sleep.

What must have been only an hour passed and I woke up to a noise. It was like someone had opened the back door downstairs. My heart beating as fast as a race horse I froze upright in my bed trying to listen to any other sounds.

About a minute later, I heard it again, grabbed my phone and dialled my home phone number. I told myself if I heard it again, I was ringing so it would wake up my parents and scares off whoever it was in my house.

The noise happened again and I hit the call button. I had witheld my number and heard the phone ring, I heard the movement downstairs walk fast towards the front of my house and then heard my mum answer the phone, "Hello!"

I hung up straight away, feeling calm. What my mum was doing downstairs I have no idea, but I lay back down laughing at how stupid I was.

I fell back to sleep only to wake up a few hours later to footsteps on the staircase.

I kept thinking to myself, i don't want to die... and pleaded that whoever it was would not come in my room. For some mad reason, I crept out of bed and to my door listening out.

I got ready to open my door... I have no clue why I would do this, my mind was shouting at my hand not too and my hand was ignoring it. Whoever it was would surely snap me in half, maybe even shoot and answer questions later.

Before it got to open the door, the footsteps went up the next set of stairs and opened a bedroom door. I went back to my bed shaking my head and laughing, my mum had to wander the house the night I had seen that scary trailer.

I fell in and out of sleep for the next few hours, getting rather annoyed.

Then finally waking up on my side letting out an (incredibly manly) scream... I quickly realised it was not a man standing holding a gun but my jumper over my wardrobe door.

It was nice to know that even though I screamed quite loudly, not one person in my house woke up. Terribly unnerving when I was scared out of my mind that something might happen and now having no reasurrance that if it did, anyone would hear my screams anyway.

I tried to go back to sleep, even by counting sheep.

6.30am came and I was thankful that my alarm woke me alive and un-harmed. I got up and got ready for work looking like I had never even been to bed.

Never am I watching a Scary Movie again or trailer for that matter!
